Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Saturday to continue striking "enemies" after a "very difficult night", following two Iranian missile strikes on southern Israel.
“This is an extremely difficult night in the battle for our future... We are determined to continue striking our enemies on all fronts,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
The Israeli ambulance announced that more than 75 people were wounded, including 10 in critical condition, as a result of an Iranian missile that targeted Arad, in the south of the country.
Local media broadcast footage of damaged buildings in the town located 25 kilometers northeast of the city of Dimona, which was hit by an Iranian missile strike earlier on Saturday.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that helicopters were sent to the site of the Iranian missile fall to help evacuate the wounded.
According to the Israeli channel, the educational process was canceled throughout the country after the recent attack on Dimona and Arad.
The Israeli army said that the Iranian missile that hit Arad weighed 450 kilograms, and two attempts to intercept it failed.
The Israeli fire service confirmed that the city of Arad was subjected to a direct hit, causing major damage to a number of buildings, after the Israeli army detected a missile launched from Iran.
The Israeli army had confirmed earlier on Saturday evening that the city of Dimona, where a nuclear facility is located in southern Israel, had been subjected to an Iranian missile strike, while the ambulance service announced that more than 30 people had been injured as a result of the attack.
